Description

Installing/upgrading 6.00.06 from a CD, xconfig.sh script works correctly from the CD but the HD seems to get left behind.

- correct nvidia driver isn't installed

- /etc/X11/xorg.conf isn't quite right

This may be due to the /etc/pacman.conf problems previously noted.

As a result the FE doesn't start at boot time instead you see:

Starting LinHES frontend Starting LinHES frontend Starting LinHES frontend Frontend is not able to start, disabling it.

Seems to work for a fresh install, although during the "preparing for life" phase the "installing 96xx" message shows up at least two different times. What's up with that?

Mostly works on an upgrade from R5.5. Previous problem occurred with upgrading from an R6 alpha/beta version. The remaining problems are the weird X resolution issue covered elsewhere so it might be time to close this.
