pacman -Qs nvidia

Hi, it is whatever an autoinstall of r6 creates (I'm not a linux or computer guy, so I go with the defaults, as few mods as possible :) just giving heart and soul and tears to get a working MythTV for me and my wife!), except installed VDPau as per instructions (ran pacman commands, then created playback profile). They would be what you would expect. Nvidia is nvidia-beta 180.29-1. I don't know out to interpret the output of "pacman -Qs mythtv" since it gives several different version for various components. So attached are the outputs of above commands. Thank you, jams!

The mythtv-vdpau package was installed when it should not have been.
Run these commands
pacman -Sy
pacman -S mythtv
Then reboot.
In addition you could also move back to a stable version of the nvidia drivers, but it's not required.
(pacman -Sf nvidia , Then reboot)

The mythtv-vdpau package is known to cause problems like this, and it's unsupported.

Thank you, Jams! VDPau is still enabled and working, while transcode and flagging work now. So for posterity (thems like me with the same issue):

I followed the commands described here: http://linhes.org/flyspray/index.php?do=details&task_id=243

pacman -Sy
pacman -Rd nvidia
pacman -Rd mythtv
pacman -S mythtv-vdpau

pacman -Sy
pacman -Rd mythtv mplayer
pacman -S mythtv-vdpau mplayer-vdpau-nogui

Then backtracking to myth from myth-vdpau, as per Jams, solved mythtv yuckiness:

pacman -Sy
pacman -S mythtv

So question -- I presume then it is that only the beta drivers are needed, not the myth-vdpau package? I'm sorry to be such a noob, but what is the right way to install these drivers / enable vdpau directly without isntalling the myth-vdpau package? My apologies, and my gratitude for your patience!

//Background: In the forums there are a few others seeking successful VDPAU, probably out of similar desperation :) I'm guessing VDPAU is really going to be wanted / needed as we transition into exclusive U.S. ATSC OTA. For me, only vdpau has worked for my machine, otherwise digital TV is unwatchable in either 5.5 or 6. Underpowered box. With this Sparkle GeForce 8400GS, adding UseEvents True did not activate Xvmc like it should / like it did with my old MX4000. Using VDpau -- thanks to Graysky -- is the only thing that has made tv watching possible, and quite wonderfully at that -- VERY low CPU load! Cheereo//

...I take that back, maybe VDPau isn't working anymore. HiDef channel (KCAL9.1 LA) stuttering terribly. I think I saw a lorez channel just above and got fooled. SO.... same question remains. How to enable VDPAU without installing myth-vdpau package? Thank you!

Is vdpau & and myth-vdpau one and the same? I have a few questions. Thank you!
