Description
After an update earlier tonight (sorry, didn't record what packages exactly), I rebooted and had no response to my remote. I rebooted again just to be sure it wasn't a fluke, and still no luck. I checked with irw, and LIRC was getting nothing. So I looked in /var/log/lircd and saw this:
Apr 8 23:20:54 vidiot lircd: could not get file information for /dev/lirc0
Apr 8 23:20:54 vidiot lircd: default_init(): No such file or directory
Hmm. I looked, and sure enough there was no /dev/lirc0, only /dev/lirc3. After some poking around, I found this line in /etc/modprobe.d/lirc_i2c.conf:
options lirc_i2c debug=0 minor=3
Well, that would explain why my receiver was coming up as lirc3. I commented out that line, and now it works again.

That was left over from the old way of dealing with hauppauge. Deleting it was the correct thing todo.
