Description
No specific bug is associated with this (hence the Feature Request designation), but the PCI IDs at /usr/share/hwdata/pci.ids haven't been updated since 09/2008. Newer data appears by running 'update-pciids'. I believe that this data is mainly used to provide human-readable information in /var/log/messages, but people have requested this sort of update in the past to get certain hardware working in KnoppMyth.
I recommend making it run either at every boot or as a cron job to run monthly.
