Description
Installer sat for a long time on "Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time." The screen blanked during the installation process, during the above wait. A day later, it's still displaying the same info.

- How many hard drives or floppy drives are hooked up to the system?
- What type of hard drives (sata/ata) and how are they configured?
- Which controllers are used?
- What filesystems did were selected?

The core of the bug seems to be the FS type. I re-installed with ext3, and the installation finished. When I chose xfs for both /myth and /, it stayed at 100% and never completed.
Primary master IDE drive is an optical drive, and secondary master is an IDE HDD. No other drives are attached. The controller is the nForce4 ultra chipset.

In this case XFS is the problem, working on a fix for this.
