Description

I received a "CODE RED HIGH CPU USAGE" warning today, while attempting to watch a recorded program. I upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 yesterday. When I checked running processes, there were multiple instances of mythlogserver, each using 3-10% CPU. I killed all of them and things started running normally again, but I subsequently noticed two new mythlogserver processes start up. The problem appears to be related to this bug [[http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/11230]]. Based on that bug report I have temporarily disabled mythlogserver with "chmod a-x /usr/bin/mythlogserver", which is obviously not ideal.

I saw this a few days ago and a build of myth with mythlogserver disabled is in the testing repos. http://cgit.linhes.org/linhes_pkgbuild/commit/?h=testing&id=15d5058bbe99f3046f81206723b8a57a5e4305f9

To test you can either change your pacman.conf to the testing repos or pacman -U http://linhes.org/repo/x86_64/core-testing/mythtv-0.27-8-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz There was a binary change so if you update mythtv to the -8 pkgrel you will need to update all the plugins to -8 as well.

Please report back how the -8 build works for you.

-9 pkgver has been pushed to the stable repos. This removes mythlogserver.
